A Healthy Diet

Drink plenty of water, caffeine free tea, or non carbonated, no added sugar soft drinks.
The foundation of your diet should be wholegrain cereals, bread and rice. Rice, oats, and barley are better than wheat because they are metabolised more slowly.
Eat as much fruit and vegetables as you like – the more the better, especially vegetables which are very low in calories, but provide fibre.
Be sparing on consumption of dairy and animal based products as they are high in saturated fats. Instead choose lean meats or, better still, fish – especially oily fish such as mackerel, sardines or salmon.
Eat the minimum of fats, fried snacks, and sweet or sugary foods and confectionery. Replace hard fats by oils, especially ones high in unsaturated fats and omega 3, 6 and 9, like olive oil, hemp seed oil and pumpkin seed oil.
Fibre supplements – if you need extra help with keeping ‘regular’.
